Blyth Harbour Commission (Port of Blyth) is the Statutory Harbour Authority responsible for navigation on the River Blyth, with jurisdiction from 1 mile seaward of the entrance piers to the navigable extent of the river, approximately 3 miles upstream.
The Port sets Byelaws which, alongside national legislation, help to ensure the safe and efficient movement of all craft within the limits of such jurisdiction.The Harbour Master’s Department operates on a 24 hour, 365 day basis and provides a number of services including dredging, pilotage, towage, foyboatmen and general navigation control.
