The Port has established itself as an important international gateway for northern UK with a number of regular services offering cost effective access to world markets.
A twice weekly container service between Blyth and the Dutch port of Moerdijk (near Rotterdam) provides excellent connections with continental Europe, particularly Holland, Germany, France and Belgium. This service also offers opportunities for transshipment both short sea (Baltic) and deep sea with daily barge connections with Rotterdam and Antwerp feeding goods worldwide, particularly to and from South America and the Far East.
Breakbulk services out of Blyth include a weekly connection up the Rhine to central Germany with opportunities to collect consignments anywhere on the Rhine on the return leg to Blyth.
Monthly deep sea breakbulk services also operate into Blyth from the Far East providing options for the shipment of timber, steel and other breakbulk commodities.
